28 Aug 2026 Read update The CGA's crypto AML/KYT guideline, dated June 2026, imposes a phased technical-compliance calendar on licensees. An interim policy-submission milestone falls around September 2026, a risk-assessment and staff-training milestone follows roughly six months later, and full compliance, including wallet segregation and transaction monitoring capability, is required by June 2027. This is a confirmed, detailed compliance calendar, but it is issued as CGA guidance rather than primary legislation, and therefore carries fragile durability: it is revocable or amendable by the CGA in a way that the underlying LOK statute is not. For operators, the practical effect is a multi-stage technical build-out, beginning with policy documentation and culminating in operational wallet-screening and monitoring infrastructure, compressed into roughly twelve months from the guideline's publication to the final June 2027 deadline.

## Infrastructure

Under the new LOK the applicant / licensee should have a server or mirror in Curacao available for storing critical data and reports as specified by the CGA with critical info of players, their wagering and financial transactions in type-IV certified data center.

## Integrations

Under the LOK, there are no integration requirements except to say that the applicant /licensee’s nominated person will need to be registered with the reporting system ‘goAML5’. This is a simple online system for registering (usually the MLRO) with the AML reporting portal and then filing reports electronically as required. The CGA may decide to refuse to grant the licence if this provision is not complied with.

Under LOK, Licensee shall be required to submit to the CGA any information, intelligence and reports that the CGA deems necessary for monitoring compliance This may include payment transactions, changes in the gaming account, changes of control, intervention measures applied. This data will need to be provided in real-time (or close to it), where CGA may use of a central monitoring database for this purpose. The reports in any case will consist at minimum, of a change report, incident report and a player transaction report and a complaint report. The reporting requirement may also include, for example, the number of complaints handled by the licensee, broken down by subject of the complaint with an indication of the outcome of the complaint handling.

Software certification

Under the LOK, the technical requirements governing gambling software is not expressly covered but as stated therein will be addressed in subsequent provisions and govern:

equipment and software used to provide services or goods;

measures ensuring fair and reliable gaming and preventing gaming-related crimes such as fraud, abuse and match-fixing;

the number, type and method of approval of the games to be offered, as well as the other activities to be permitted;
