## Full section analysis

## Payments

There are a number of specialist banks on the Island that have significant experience of working with online gambling operators and there is domestic Isle of Man legislation that automatically protects player funds if the funds are held in an Isle of Man licensed bank. However, banking outside of the Island is allowed (with consent of Treasury) as long as the relevant bank is Basel II compliant.

Operators must operate through trading accounts in a bank located in the Isle of Man unless agreed otherwise with the Isle of Man Treasury. In addition, any bank accounts for trading or gambling purposes should be located in the Isle of Man unless agreed otherwise with the Treasury.

The GSC has published guidance notes relating to use of virtual assets/goods (e.g. VA in/VA out).

## Localisation

There is a requirement to have technical infrastructure hosted in IOM.

## Capitalisation / Bank guarantees

The GSC will require evidence that the operator has sufficient funds to run the business but there are no formal capitalisation requirements. However, if an applicant is part of a larger group and cannot provide evidence that it alone has the funds to run the business the GSC could in theory ask for a parent company guarantee or similar.
