## Full section analysis

LC 18.1.1, in force from 29 July 2026, creates a new mandatory technical-compliance obligation requiring holders of non-remote casino, bingo, general betting (standard and limited), adult gaming centre and family entertainment centre operating licences to withdraw gaming machines that the Gambling Commission identifies as non-compliant upon written notification. The condition is attached as a general licence condition by virtue of section 75 of the Gambling Act 2005, in line with the provision at section 86(2). It is a licence condition, not a code provision: breach is directly enforceable, including by financial penalty and by regulatory action following a section 116 review. The condition text is amendable by Commission consultation, but non-compliance is actionable in a way that an ordinary code provision is not. This obligation was adopted directly out of the Commission's January 2025 gaming-machine consultation, feedback on which was published 29 January 2026, and it tightens the machine-standards regime by removing operator discretion once a withdrawal notice is issued.
